Beyond the staggering levels of venomous (NSFW) vile being spewed forth from this bigoted British blowhard’s mouth — in full view of her son, no less — I am absolutely shocked — shocked — by how calm everyone is being.

Pasteles has always been one of those touchstones that immediately stirs up a flood of memories of growing up in Puerto Rico. [Like being rolled down a hill in an empty oil drum right into a mango grove. Or waking up to my great-grandmother’s chicken farm in the mountains.] Unfortunately, I haven’t been in 5+ years. Even with things like face-time and webcams, its just not the same. But I’m hoping to change that by buying tickets for me & my mom to - what I feel like - is our real home.(I almost didn’t post this because I know Sky would kill me if she found out I made pasteles and didn’t save any for her.
